CONSULTANCY OPPORTUNITY FOR SUPPORTING THE DEVELOPMENT, EDITING AND DESIGNING OF 2017 ACB REPORT

1. Background

The African Constituency Bureau (ACB) aims to ensure Africa attracts, leverages and invests as many resources to end Epidemics in Africa, with AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria as top priorities.

ACB does this by generating consensus around African priorities and strengthening the capacity of African leaders in health to effectively represent the continent’s interests and needs, engage in global health governance and influence global health discussions and decisions.

ACB facilitates participation and meaningful engagement of Africa Countries in global health discussions. One of the critical work that ACB does is to provide African representatives to the Global Fund Board and Board Committees with technical support in reviewing key documents and ensuring they have all the necessary information to represent Africa’s interests at the Board Meetings.

The ACB seeks to engage the services of a contractor to support the development, editing and designing of its 2017 annual report.

The LOE for this assignment is 5 days.

 

2. Scope of Work and Deliverables

 

The contractor is expected to support development, editing and designing of the ACB’s 2017 report clearing highlighting the organization’s achievements in a well-presented and easy-to-read manner that combines narratives, graphics and pictures in no more than 10 pages.

 

3. Timelines

 

The following are the timelines towards delivery of the report:

– Contractor to share 2-paged technical and financial proposal by Thursday, April 12 and the contract to be signed by Friday April 13

– Draft report shared with ACB by Monday, April 23

– Final ACB 2017 report to be delivered by Friday, May 1

 

4. Conduct of the work

 

The contractor will report to the Policy Analyst at the ACB.

Any information and documents that shall come in the possession of the contractor during the course of this assignment remain confidential and cannot be used for any other purposes other than the intended purpose, unless with prior consent from the ACB.

 

5. Requirements

 

Interested contractors with relevant experience are invited to submit 2-paged technical and financial proposals for carrying out this assignment on by Thursday, 2018 April 12th at the latest to awel.mezgebe@africabureau.org. The technical proposal should include the following:

– Profile of the contractor and an outline of recent experiences with similar assignments

– A brief technical proposal detailing how the assignment will be innovatively carried out to achieve ACB’s desired outcomes

– A financial proposal for the services to be rendered

 

6. Required Competencies and Experience

 

– Be familiar with the work of the ACB and its mandate

– Have proven experience with developing graphic designs and communication materials

– Have appropriate mix of postgraduate education covering Communication, Public Health, Finance, Governance and other relevant fields

– Proven experience in health policy and advocacy preferably in Africa

– Good understanding of the Global Fund processes and programming around the 3 epidemics (Malaria, TB and HIV) in Africa

– Good understanding of Africa’s health systems and approaches to Resilient and Sustainable Systems for Health

– Strong background and experience with Global Heath, Health Financing and Global Health Governance would be an added advantage
